Everyone Thinks They Are an SEO Expert. SEO for Food

How to Hire REAL SEO Experts

These days, everyone seems to know how to do SEO.  Here in Tampa, we’ve come up with a great client list and love what we do, but all too often we come across horror stories of SEO gone wrong.

Got Cash?

Hire SEO Expert Tip #1: Avoid any company that claims “1st Spot on Google Guaranteed.”

If an SEO firm hits you with a message like, “We guarantee top 10 placement for your business’ keywords,” run for your life. No SEO firm can ever claim that they will get you guaranteed top placement.  Google tells you themselves in their Google Webmaster Guidelines, “No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google.” Tampa SEO does not guarantee first page placement, but we do have a 100% money-back guarantee that if you do not see a single improvement in SEO rankings after 3 months, you will receive a full refund of any payment given to Tampa SEO. We can offer this guarantee because we’ve never worked with a client that has not drastically improved their organic search rankings.

Hire SEO Expert Tip #2: SEO firms that use the word “automated” should be canned.

Search engine optimization is not about spammy cheap content and silly link building tactics designed to manipulate the search engines.  Search engine optimization is about your customers. If you provide great content that your users love and talk about, the search engines will take notice and reward you. Tampa SEO was created with one idea in mind – give your customers what they’re looking for, and they’ll be loyal customers for life. Don’t just create blog posts, videos, podcasts, and press releases for SEO – that’s a waste of time and resources. Instead, create high quality blog posts that educates your customer. Focus on video content that your customers want and are hungry for – don’t just create another commercial.

Hire SEO Expert Tip #3: An SEO company that speak in riddles that cannot be understood should be avoided like the plague.

Most SEO firms use automated tools and link building techniques that could be classified as, “grey hat.” These techniques may not be against any search engine guidelines now, but they may certainly be in the future – and you don’t want to be up a creek without a paddle.

Hire SEO Expert Tip #4: Never hire an SEO company without checking their references.

Any decent SEO company will have some of their results listed on their websites. This helps the SEO company to build up trust from their clients. Always call one or two of these references and make sure the SEO client has seen an increase in search rankings – and always check to make sure that the SEO company has great customer service.

Hire SEO Expert Tip #5: If you decide to hire an SEO company, double check their reporting.

Tampa SEO has also heard countless stories of SEO clients receiving reporting from their SEO firms, only to later discover that the SEO data has been  manipulated and the reporting was not entirely accurate. We all know that data can be manipulated to look good. The data doesn’t lie, or does it? Here’s a graph one of our SEO clients showed us after hiring us. Clearly something went wrong with their previous SEO company.

Love the photo too. Sounds ridiculous but the layout with the short paragraphs and bold headings forced me to read the whole article. Well done

I agree 1000% with this post. Thank you!. “Company A promised 1st spot ranking on 25 keyword and 20,000,000 links why are we not ranking better after 2 says of using your company?” (exaggeration)

These discount firms are the reason SEO looks bad in the eyes of some people. You really do get what your pay for.
